The Bissell 6900 is a know-it-all canister. Consumers have had a lot to say about the Bissell DigiPro canister vacuum, but it hasn’t always been positive. This is one of those vacuums that you have to research before purchasing to make sure it is going to fit your needs and expectations. While it has a lot to offer, it also has a lot of points that may become complaints for some consumers.
If you are searching for a compact vacuum that can easily be taken up stairways and into every corner and closet of your home, a Bissell canister vacuum may be exactly what you need. This just may not be the model for everyone.
There are some features on the DigiPro that aren’t expected on all canister vacuums. Most canisters lack the advanced features that you can now find on full sized upright vacuums, but the DigiPro steps out of that mold to offer you more. It has HEPA filtration as well as automated suction power adjustment!
Bissell vacuums are good value and one of my favorites is the CleanView. Click here to see the Bissell CleanView 9595a reviewed at Best Vacuum Advisor.
The HEPA filter is what attracts most consumers initially. Trapping the small particles and allergens in the air into a filter which can later be cleansed has transformed what most people expect from a vacuum today. Most canisters don’t have this type of filtration, but the DigiPro does! Just note that this is not a sealed HEPA filtration system so it may allow some particles to escape through cracks of the machine.
The automatic suction adjustment is a great feature for any vacuum, canister or upright. There is a sensor that determines when sections of your floor have higher amounts of dirt or debris and it adjusts the suction power accordingly. This is a feature that really attracts many consumers, though not all agree that it works as it should.
You can also manually set the DigiPro to different levels of suction power, so you don’t have to rely entirely on the automatic sensor. Some consumer reviewers have been unsatisfied with the amount of suction offered with this machine, but there are many others who are quite happy with it. If you have a need for immense suction power there may be more powerful Bissell vacuum cleaners to suit your needs better. Are you looking for the best cordless vac?
The canister rolls on oversized wheels and swivels to 360 degrees, so you can always get around furniture and corners to clean all areas of your home. You also have the flexibility of cleaning up and down stairways and going places that an upright vacuum would struggle to go. That is just the advantage of using a canister vacuum in general.
The DigiPro weighs just over 21 pounds, so it isn’t the lightest weight model on the market. There have been some consumer complaints about the quality of the product, since there are a lot of thin or flimsy pieces and parts. Most find it lasts for at least a few years, but it is not uncommon to read reviews stating it broke in relatively short periods of time.
Once you start vacuuming, there are a lot of features that make it fast and highly efficient. The power brush can adjust to five different height settings to accommodate all levels of carpeting and bare floors. There is a nozzle designed for safe cleaning of bare floors, which mans this one canister could clean your entire home fast and easy!
You can turn the circulating brush roll on or off depending on the surface you are cleaning. This is important because some more fragile floor types may be damaged by spinning bristles.
